Petrol in Deisel car

Wife put Petrol in our Diesel Leon and I didn't realize until the car started playing up. Ive worked out how to get the diesel out what else do I need to do afterwards, any advice would be appreciated as I'm hoping I can save my Leon, Ty.

Petrol can damage your expensive fuel injectors and high pressure pump. They rely on the lubricity of the diesel fuel, petrol is a solvent.
DO NOT try to start it.
You need a full fuel system drain and flush, and your fingers tightly crossed!

The same thing happened back when I had my Mk 2 (and yes it was me that did it without thinking after switching from petrol to my first diesel car!!).

As mentioned above, don't drive and get it professionally flushed.

I was lucky & all mine needed was the flush & a new fuel filter.

Shame to waste money on my own mistake plus the full tank of fuel I'd just put in!

A friend did that, I had to go and pick up his wife and kids from the petrol station. Get it flushed as soon as possible and hopefully the petrol will not have been in there long enough to do any damage.
