i recognise those wheels :D

good buy and even better price :)
hehe well whoever had them before me needs a lesson on cleaning wheels. I spent two hours trying to take the crap stuck on them off. They look much better now and in around 2 weeks will look unrecognisable! :)

Custom LCR Alloys
-----
Dropped my alloys off to split and polish for customisation. Hopefully when they are ready next Saturday (time is dragging already) I will have something unique to show on the forum.

Doing some research today I uncovered that I need the following.

4x - wheel nut cover for the lock nut. Part No: 8D0 601173 B/D
16x - wheel nut covers. Part No 321 601 173 A
4x - Seat 50mm Alloy centre caps. Part No: unknown???
20x - Locking wheel nut. If anyone has any suggestions on where I can get these i would be very grateful!
1x - Nut covery thingy. Part No: 8D0 012 244 A

I also need 4 new tyres as upon closer inspection they gone bald in the middle due to over inflation. I have found Falken 452s for £57.50 which is a result.

Custom LCR Alloys - Prep work
-----
In anticipation of the alloys coming this Saturday I have decided to invest in something that will protect my investment. Chemical Guys Wheel Guard from various sources is hailed to be one of the best wheel waxes/sealants out there.

The plan will go as follows:

1) Wax wheels with the wheel guard.
2) Leave to cure for an hour in a warm place and buff off.
3) Apply wax again, leave to cure for another hour and then buff off.
4) Wax again, leave for 5 minutes and buff off.

This process will hopefully make the wheels really shiny and protected from here onwards. Apparently they will be so well protected that I wont have to use any sort of wheel cleaner. As long as I wax them regularly, for example every other wash they should say perfect!

LCR Alloy Preview Pics
------
Well what can I say. I am amazed and shocked how the wheels came out. Spent the whole day today with Slick waxing and cleaning the cars/wheels ready to take some quality pictures. Unfortunately by the time we finished it got dark and pictures just didn't come out that great so here is a preview. These two are the best of a bad bunch. don't do the wheels justice but I am determined to take good ones tomorrow!

In case you cant see the fronts are machine faced with antracite in between the spokes.

As you can see from this pic face of the alloys are very shiney at night

Loks nice mate, i still think the LCR wheels are one of the better looking wheels for the Leon above most aftermarket rims. SEAT got it right first time ;)
Look forward to some shiny daytime pics mate :D

Thanks mate. Definitely going to take loads and upload them today.

Looks very smart Maz, really suits the colour of the car - good to see you cleaned the rubbing strips this time too :cartman:
Thanks Pat, i learnt my lesson from last time! When you see them in person i look forward to your opinion! Brake clearance is pretty impressive compared to standard FR rims.

VERY nice!
I often wondered how they would look with a darker inside. I like them.
You weren't wrong about the shine either! :D
