Not a gripe really, but I just sent a pm (or thought I did) and got no confirmation that it had actually gone.

Is there any way I can check to see if it has?

Yes. I previewed first, then when it looked ok I hit submit.

The next page that appeared was the pm section of the user control panel, with nothing in the sent box (but I read a post that said there was a bug where pm's didn't get put in the sent box).

it's gone if you hit send & it went to the next page

Ok, thx. It just seemed a bit odd not to get a "your message has been sent" type thing.
