the first run i did full boost all gears was high 15s smoking tyres in 3rd
so you managed to put down about 250bhp of the 480bhp you have available?in other words you're never gonna be able to exploit all of the power you have available!i remember a certain 600bhp octavia running 15's as well:pmust be mighty scary on the road and an animal to control round a track:D

on the 4th in 13s my first go at 1/4 mile never built it for that was abit of fun while i was down there

Big power FWD cars are never going to be any good on the 1/4 mile unless they're specifically set up for it, 350bhp FWD cars were faster than 400bhp FWD cars at Crail recently, as you've said it's all about in-gear acceleration and it's just a bit of fun. More people need to concentrate on the fun factor rather than times and peak bhp figures.

When I see people stripping their cars for trackdays etc. I think "why"? You're not in a race, every kilogram does NOT count or matter, you're not there to find and/or go beyond the limit putting yourself and others in danger. Do a trackday/1/4 mile and have fun, drive quickly but enjoy it!

Im with you if people just take their rear seats out yeah, but proper stripping can and will make you go faster and stop quicker.
 
not many then... and not as seriously as some folk.

light will always be the best approach.. helps more than just acceleration
braking, turn in, the whole package feels much nicer on track.

each to their own.
just because they strip their cars down and make them lighter does not mean they're

, merely more into their track fun than those who dont want to do the same to their pride and joys

Not like its not OTT to continually keep changing a cars spec over and over again is it :whistle: :D
