WelL had a good luck at this today and the rubber seal along the sill isn`t doing anything in fact I can put my fingers through the gap with the door shut and the seal itself was lined with dirt, grit grass. twigs etc along its length.
If the door actually shut against the seal it would stop the crud collecting along the door!
