Nope not alloys, volkswagen steels, commonly called g60's but there is speculation that they were never fitted to g60's but passat.s

If youv'e got an 8v it's all about the 14" steels from a mk2 golf gti

14's with the same diameter wouldn't make a difference....
195/50/15 = 575.81mm
185/60/14 = 577.59mm

which is bigger than if your running 195/50's on your 15s.....

you can't tell nowadays tho, as there are loads of fakes about
unless you see the VW stamp

yet suprisingly, when it went over to Germany etc with three blokes in, camping gear, food, clothes , beer etc, the only place it scraped was on and off the ferry.. proves the roads in the UK are god-awful.
