No jbs told me the std air box is good for well over 400bhp

:) i was told it should be ok but will need regular cleaning. my experience shows mine wasnt ok.

i dont know anyone other than us two that have run panels with bt.

too much of a coincedence for me for the boost to be back immeadialy after switching filters. i did change the dv too but your running a new 007 so cant be that.

if jbs end up scratching there heads try the filter

jonah ran more power with a panel filter & std airbox than open filter / covered filter

at what level and for how long? within a month of conversion my boost dropped. not gradualy either.
6 months on and opencone+r1 dv fixes the problem instantly.

previous dvs tried were fresh 007p and an older bailey.. both ran fine but boost still stuck at 1.1. cant be the dv can it?

the r1 does feel smoother but cant see how this would have found the missing power?

can you think of anyone else whos run bt and a panel?

None of these would reduce the requested boost in the map though which is what the problem with caveos car is. Its only making low boost because its only asking for it not because something cant do what it should be doing.

humor me:)

wouldnt the ecu adapt to lower boost if it kept failing to get the air volume required? the ecu must have the ability to change its settings because it has. surely its only going to do that if theres an actual problem.

pj1985 is right , jbs say its detecting a fault some where and scaling down boost but its not throwing up any codes so its def a head scratcher

Dont get me wrong mate ill av a look and give it a clean after i fit my boost gague on wednesday ill also do an ECU reset and see what happens

From what Im told requested boost is not something the ecu adapts. The only time it lowers requested is limp mode which is actuator pressure and caveo doesnt have this.

I saw more airflow when i changed to my old ibiza's giant green cone filter on the octy when I removed the stock airbox?

it can flow it, but it can flow even easier without would be my conclusion.

Obviously the airbox becomes a restriction at a certain point but i've logged quicker in gear acceleration with a mushroom filter over airbox,50-80 stuff like that.

Haven't you answered your own question ;)

You would notice 1 bar to 1.4 bar mate, has it ever felt different.

with no boost gauge and not having it long? if it fell off the way mine did you could be forgiven for thinking it was bedding in, you adjusting or heat soak.

1 bar ihi isnt slow if you had 230 odd a couple of months back.

bedding in?
I'm sorry but the difference between 1 bar and 1.4bar at 6000rpm is about 40-50bhp you would notice!
There seems to loads of these problems with me7.5 ecu's the me7's never had these issues.

It took em a week to map it and they said it wasnt easy , hope they didnt just give up and think 1.2 bar will do

no argument its a big difference. but as a daily driver not getting near full boost for very long at a time... maybe getting the chance to really give it the beans once out of every five journeys and no way of checking boost levels and not being used to the power. it could be done.

who else is having ecu/mapping problems?

stewie had boost issue as have many others all running me7.5.
Should get full boost everytime you stick your toe down in 3+ gear.
Thats why i think a aftermarket boost controller is a must.
