No jbs looked at that end and said no one had been messin ( think they did that cos id been to RS tuning for a rolling road day and suspected foul play?)

Caveo-anyone been fiddling with load scale %?
Bill, being a tuner yourself i'm sure you'd rather one of your customers dealt with just you rather than asking people on forums?i appreciate Caveos worried about his car as it's not running right but i beleive jbs will know how to fix it?

Caney a JBS'er now? New figures i see now mate, where did you get it rolling roaded?
Will see you at inters.
Been thinking of buying a old agu golf and making a turbo kit ,running a real 380bhp ,anti lag etc but i'm thinking that the 1.8t days are over!

Just a green cotton panel filter in smoothed airbox with a 100mm feed why??

I totally agree.. you are 100% spot on in that respect.

some peeps read on here and think they now know it all, and worse still presume to then tell me whats up with their car after calling me for "advise on whats wrong with it" -

I need to talk to JBS also with regards to boost, except mines gone the other way. I'm regularly boosting to 1.65bar now, which is too much as far I'm concerned. Car is flying, but it can't be good for the turbo..........or my standard rods?

I'm going to grab Steve if he isn't too busy at GTI International.

My engine is AGU so no MAP sensor. I can log N75 duty cycle, but it won't give me boost values. I can only go by my gauge........which is apparently quite accurate so I've been told. Gauge has been showing 24psi lately.

Oh yeah, and I'm getting a whistle above 23psi now. I have a bunch of questions ready for the JBS guys :)

So you have no way of logging requested boost?

Wish mine went that was , id love it ( an excuse to do the internals)

Recommended proceedure on my car appears to be to check via a boost gauge (albeit a digital one, mine is analogue)

It is possible to check requested and actual engine load via measuring block 25, but all you can do is check to see whether the numbers are within 0.3ms of each other indicating a boost fault.

I have a theory that the injector on number 3 cyl was leaking during mapping (see my build thread) and the ECU was mapped to 22psi. I have now fixed the leak and it's boosting higher. So I'm thinking that It may need bringing down a bit.

As mentioned I'll be talking to JBS about it as I'm sure they will have all the answers I require.

So you can check requested vs actual then. Log it and see what the difference is. Thats what its there for. Surely you may have a boost fault! If the 1.6bar is overshoot and its requesting what it should be then the fault is hardware etc. Considering you fitted this all yourself Im sure you are more than capable of changing a few simple parts if its a hardware thing. Save you some £s.

Absolutely agree. I hadn't realised I could check the requested vs actual load on my car until today.
I can and do make my own opinions and fixes, but it's only based upon my own limited experience. Often nice to get confirmation from guys that see these cars everyday.

I'll record some logs tonight.

Anyways, sorry caveo, I'll post all that in my own thread.

No probs mate we have about the same set up anyway.

except your air filter. even one else is open cone afaik?

mine dropped to 1.1bar shortly after conversion. replaced green panel filter with an open cone and boosting 1.4 now without issue.

i dont think the panel filter can handle bt. its fine when brand new but after a few weeks it cant shift the air.

perhaps clean yours throughly and see if the boost is back

I'm running the standard air box and paper filter. Boosting at 1.65bar all day long at the moment (until it goes pop).
