dont wire em up then :):)

Good point, well brought out.:D

Anyway, I've ordered the proper D2S bi-xenon kit. Should be with me by end of next week.
Parts list as follows:-
Bi-xenon projectors with modified spacers & cut off shield,
4300K D2S bulbs,
D2S to AMP adapters for use with existing ballasts,
Chrome shrouds with cut outs around perimeter.

I have a pair of Halogen headlights available if you want them. I have fitted the OEM xenons by the way ask if you need to know anything :)

hi chaps i have just changed my lights to bi xenon and they are working only on dip, i need to wire pin 11 from the headlight to the control unit for the bi xenon part, can anyone tell me where the control unit is before i start pulling apart my car looking for it

Leon MHX thanks for your guide it has helped greatly but i now need to find this control unit to complete the job can you help me please.. thanks

thanks i was going to do the same as you but a i got both bi xenon headlights for £305 inc vat from my local dealer i already had the bulbs from an older car and the ballast units i got from valeo direct (part no 043731) £65 each so it not that bad price wise.

Unfortunately i havent got round to the xenon high-beam as i was eager to get it done as it was going dark at the time, so ive just made do with the halogen ones.:ban: I believe th control unit is right up behind the pedals (if its a RHD) not 100% though.

Also make sure the xenons are coded in via VAG-COM, otherwise you will mess up your lights!

i have a friend who is a seat master tech and he does have vag com, do you have to code the lights if you are not using the high beam?

well that is why my ones flicker then, i was thinking about connecting the flap control to the headbeam bulb wiring to see if that would work but don't fancy taking the risk have you tried?

No i havent tried that.
Dont keep using your xenons till they are coded because xenons require a DC current and your car is giving them AC so it will probably feck your ballasts and possibly bulbs.

i have only tried them once car is at bmw on a ramp will have to make a trip to see my mate get them coded and wired up, are you going to wire the bi xenon or not

Think i will probably leave it till we get some longer days, i work 6 days a week so i dont fancy taking my car apart at the weekend:p

I've had a look around the back of the Leon's headlamps & it seems that the reflector is mounted to some ball & socket adjustment mounts.
If I remove the reflector from the headlamp, there will be nothing to attach the projector into the headlamp.

Sooooo, I going to mount the projector inside the reflector. This will mean I will have to make the centre hole bigger & drill 4 bolt holes to fix the projector to the reflector!

How long is it going to take to get the lenses from the US then Jon? Will be good to see how this turns out, I'm thinking of purchasing some OEM Bi-Xenons shortly, I think, Jon, your neighbour is selling me them along with the Milltek exhaust I should have today :D

Ah, yes. I nearly bought my neighbours OEM Bi-xenons, but wanted to do something different.
The projector kit should be here early next week, along with a pair of Altea headlamps that I won on ebay for £53. They are identical to the Leon's headlamps.
