any one here got a non-revo mk4 petrol cupra and notice what i can describe as pulsing acceleration especially noticeable in 3rd gear going flat out? i have driven 4 other petrol cupras and they all did the same thing? can anyone enlighten me?

i have a fr petrol and cant really remember it doing that could be the standard dump valve just leaking a slight bit. getr revo and ive not noticed it pulse hope this helps a bit

Yes I have noticed it in mine. Thought it was just me. Only done 300 miles in it so far so will wait and see what happens. Its got a few things to go back to the dealers with so it can wait for now. I had a mk3 cupra whick I think is the same engine, and it was never like this.

Is it as thought the car keeps dropping boost then picking it back up, my petrol cupra did this after about 2000 miles, i took it back to the dealer and they sorted it under warrenty, its now done 21000 miles without a problem. They said it was the boost solenoid valve (not sure if they meant the recirc valve though).

Just take it back to your dealers.

thanks for the help guys i got a forge 006 piston re-circ on it but still does it, it has done from day 1! might be worth giving them a tinkle cos i got a groaning noise from what sounds like my alternator too! [:@]

I had diesel fr before i got my petrol cupra and when i first drove it i noticed the pulsing straight away. i initially thought it was traction control even in 3rd gear. It has got alot better over time and since i got forge recirc 007 and revo i haven't noticed at all in fact i forgot about until now.

try taking tc off this might be affecting it then as it cuts in all the time when on might work

i had the car 3 months with out revo and the smallest loss of grip made the car die a bit due to traction controll, cars running around 207 bhp yours also has 180 standard so will be more noticable than mine on the pulsing if its traction controll related

it cos me 400 +vat so about 460 dint have a rolling road was at tsl in nottingham but as its generic will be same as car they dyno tested. are you a seat techie?

you ever had an ibiza in with lose exhaust from turbo mines in at mine been waiting a week for a gasket and 3 bolts so sounds like down pipe. is it a comon thing

tbh m8 have never had that before! sounds a bloody long wait for 3 bolts and a gasket!! i would be well annoyed! normally every ibiza fr/cupra we get in has a problem with clonking springs and a rattly tailgate!

i know took it in on wed last week parts havent arrived i have an altea 105bhp its so slow. been told it will be ready tuesday parts dint arrive then told wed parts didnt arrive been told it will be ready tomorrow i hope so!!!

so do i. thinking the map on the cupra might be different to the fr i know the fr has a constant torque figure from 1950 to 4500 rpm says this in brochour cupra says peak torque at 2000 this might be why it pulses ie spiking torque then dropping off

yea there is that cupra remaps to the same as the fr i belive as its already half way there if you get me but already got fmic so will be better slightly i belive and might put power down better with the differewnt dif rating. well worth it have you seen vid clip of mine accelerating? they have a good sound i think but could be just a bit deepers sounding
