Hi you must be one of the lucky ones Cupra refused to allow my dealer to carryout a full upgrade and denied there was a recall available.
Unless your dealer provided you with written evidence from the brand that they outright refuse to allow them to carry out the update package then I'm going to say your dealer is telling you porkie pies there mate.

There is a recall (90Z1) BUT - it would only appear to cover PHEV models at the moment.

Request a check through their systems using your VIN, if you already didn't. That should be undeniable.
Thanks for getting back I have it in writing the brand refused my car has just come back from my dealership after two weeks of absolutely nothing being done to it before that it was at the dealership from 06/10/25-26/12/25 continuously it came back with some sort of patch which has not cured the cutting out.

Hi James vin-VSSZZZKL4SRO27255. Fingers crossed it's on the list.
The PV4 update was carried out last year by the looks of the history, but it has no mention in the repair documentation that it resolves issues where the vehicle cuts out.

Coming back a few days after the update, it seems that not much has been fixed, still getting the travel assist errors, impared sensors.Brake pedal feels sometimes stiffer(hard) sometimes softer.Gearbox felt more responsive imediatly after update but now it look like before update.Just curious to know what you feel after update.

damm first i thought lets do the update on my car as well. But it seems that it will not help directly.

This week drove 100kmh and almost didn't have to hold the wheel. With 80kkmh today it kept on whining about that i need to hold the steering wheel. The contrast between the two times I was driving is too big in my opinion.
Driving 100kmh is as well just on the edge for the hybride, it want to run the engine but then the power that is needed is not high enoug, so it jumps back to EV. After that you see the blue gauge go fully blue and the engine starts again.

There is no way I can force the engine on in that situation, Same to drive 100kmh only on the petrol engine without any help of the EV motor

Yeah just starting to think that the update are just some tweaks on the infotainment and some calibration of the sensors nothing special with and update that supposedly fixes almost all the issues.

Nah, i think thats only "big update" that we will get the rest will be OTA and that only some other tweaks.

If the specific issues people are experiencing are not covered by a bulletin that requires the update, then it's incredibly unlikely to resolve them.

There is no definitive list of what the updates resolve, but if you've had the update and still experience problems, then the cause is likely to be unrelated.

There are still known hardware defects across the VWG that can cause various issues like warning lights and odd vehicle behaviour.

@James_R

Just a question as i see you consume more knowledge about this topic.Is it normal that only driving electric feels more powerfull that when switching to hybrid?I mean if i floor it in electric mode torques is very strong on the others side in hybrid mode feels way slower.

@nasuro
That is actually correct. In EV mode the electricial power is alwase on boost. Meaning 80kw. But when it is on hybride, the power is only 50kw.
When SOC is low, then the voltage is too low to deliver 80kw of energy. It sense that the current is too high and turns on the petrol engine. Mainly when you have the PTC heater on to warm up the car.

Atleast that is how i think it works.
But for me aswell unknown why in hybride mode the electrical engine is not able to deliver 80kw if the petrol engine is off.
When the petrol engine needs to kick in just lower electrical power to 50kw and have the engine running.

Yeah i understand the hybrid works but if the battery is depleted the petrol engine kicks in faster and way powerful then when battery has juice in it.Thats what i dont get.Or maybe the VZ ones that have more horsepower dont behave like that.

Think this partly related that the electric engine has lower voltage but it wont over exceed let say 150A. Thats the max current. Meaning lower voltage means lower power.

Same if a 12vdc motor is turning slower at 8vdc.
THink its just a choise to limit current iver the whole voltage range to fixed number.
INstead to limit the power
