Howdy all,

The product in question: http://tinyurl.com/y73xvs8z

I'm a little confused how these would wire up, would these work on 2010 Cupra?

I think I'd have to get a DRL controller to dim them when the main beam activates.

Anyone tried these, or familiar enough to know if/how they'd work?

EDIT:

Found these instructions:

Am I being stupid here, but I don't understand the function of step 4. It's just a piece of plastic that holds the original bulb, no?

Thanks!

They are designed to integrate with the factory setup, the led will mount where the original indicator bulb goes. They are can bus hence the big resistor wire across, mount this to metal to help dissipate the heat.

The connector mimics that of the original bulb, so it will connect straight to the original bulb holder, and function as the indicator (Step 4).

The white wire is what powers the white DRL light, this connects to the included adapter. The adapter simply connects to a 12V source, has an inline fuse and two white wires, one for each bulb.

From the description no extra controller is needed as the bulbs will automatically switch to the indicator and back to DRL.

Thanks for the reply.

I get that the bulb goes into the socket, effectively replacing the bulb and holder. But that isn't what image 4 is showing, it's showing a bayonet connection being plugged into the original holder. You're referencing step 6 I think.

Is not the holder just a piece of plastic? I guess maybe there's more cables etc in the package that then connect to this.

Reckon it's worth a go?

With regards to the DRL controller, is it not a legal requirement for DRLs to either dim or turn off when the dipped beam is on?

Cheers

This is what I mean:

The holder is just a piece of plastic, the connections must be made inside the assembly, where the buttom on the bulb is exposed - so these wont work as they are expecting the power for the indicator to be supplied via the holder, but in this case it's just a holder.

There's probably a way to do it, but not as simply as the instructions suggest, at least not with how the indicators work in the mk5 Ibiza.

The holder in step 4 is your original one your holding from your car. The bayonet in step 4 is part of the kit, allowing the new bulb to function as the indicator. It is just a bayonet connector with wires. I suspect they will work as it tries it imitate the original.

It should be a plug and play with the original holder, i think that is the design they are showing.

The DRL controller would be needed to make them road legal yes, I forgot to check this properly before. Sorry about that!!
