how about

looks gud but how about lime green? is there anyone with a LCR in te original lime green colour?? I think that would be quite original and cool??

A quality respray of a Leon to do a colour change is goign to cost more than you think to do properly. I'd say you're talking about £3k and you'll have to have the engine removed so bank on more for the labour.

If you want a cheap job then 1-2k sounds about right.

It cost my friend about 1.6k for a part respray i.e. the outside body not the engine bay etc..........and that was using a standard performance ford blue.

To do it properly like engine out to do the bay, and inside door rubbers out etc...........at least 2k - 2.5k for a decent job.
I would imagine the paint is expensive too.

When my car went in for a respray it went to a good bodyshop.... not the best of the best, but a good, recommended one. They were originally going to spray the passenger side only and the quote for that was just shy of a grand.

So for a good job that's going to last, don't expect to see much change from £3k IMO. And bear in mind that things will always crop up that you don't expect, so you might need to factor a bit of a contingency plan too ;)

Cost £7000 for my elise to be painted including door shuts but no engine pay as this is just grey glass fibre.

Nb colour cost was £650/ltr + base + laquer etc.

Yo get what you pay for in this game

I agree you get what you pay for.... but if you know someone that can give you 'mates rates' that would really help.... about 3 years ago a mate of mine got his corrado VR6 completely sprayed (including door shuts but not engine bay) for £600....

mates rates at it's best!!!

:)

p.s I think a nice lambo lime green would look top, orange is starting to become a bit old hat, especially with the new wave of ST's out there in it.....LCR's need to remain a class apart!!

I notice the Lambo Orange LCR was originally black.

He has kept the engine bay black as is the rear roof spoiler and mirrors (RobM - you reading this??).

Looks excellent I must admit and in his position I would have kept the engine bay black too - looks better and would have kept the cost down.
