Finally fitted Goodridge braided brake lines front and rear and changed the fluid with ATE typ200 racing which replaced superblue.

I can't tell you exactly how much they need to be trimmed (the outer perimeter), just take it 1mm at a time and check if it fits.
They won't break but they need some persuasion to come off, just be careful.

What trim did you use for the pod holder?? Was it the TT trim??

No it's the stock trim, the gloss black ring that's on top the stock pod holder, it's removable and you can stick it on the tt vent pod.

yea the black gloss circle ring I have filed down the TT pod holder on the out side to make the oem black clip fit so it clips back in place...

just looked like yours had gloss black bits for the inner of the gauge holder and outer

The outer gloss black ring is the stock trim, the inner is the aem boost gauge bezel. No other part is in gloss black.

Nice built queen, also very nice cupra :)

i wanna ask a question.

one of my friends has the same problem about pressure drop when changed to 4th gear with his polo gti

he runs at 1.6 bar cont. pressure @1-2-3rd gears ok but, when he put the 4th pressure drops to 0.9-1 bar, we are trying to figure out how to re-correct this :) while i searching, i saw your built and same problem, that's why i wanna ask it to you..

how did u solve it, is it all about dsg software?

thanx

Thank you.

The "problem" with my pressure drop when it changes gear wasn't a problem, it was kind of a fail safe from my tuner so we could protect the DSG some more. Since boost drops, torque drops and the DSG can change gears more easily, if you get what I'm saying.
He should ask his tuner to try and fix it if it's a software issue, could be a mechanical issue related with the wastegate. Could need a tougher spring. It's more of a trial and error really to figure out the cause.

Thank you again :)

Today we changed map sensor from 2.0 tsi (3bar), it holded better, then changed N75 valve, it keeps boost at 1.6 bar all the rpm range :) we solved the problem with these, as u can understand :)

Now we trying to boost a little more, car has intercooler, r8 coil, hybrid turbo etc.. takes 100-200 about 11 sec for now with racelogic dbn..

Tuner and GTi owner very close friends to me and eachother also, we try to continue the progress together..

During the last 12 months my wastegate had broken 2 times. The diaphragm, to be precise.
So after an email to Forge UK, these goodies arrived today:

Apparently I wasn't the only one having this issue again and again, so they have redesigned a part of the wastegate and it should hold better. The new wastegates come with the upgraded part. They sent it to me free of charge, as well as a new diaphragm. I recommend the upgrade to anyone who is having the same issue.

Here are some closeups:

Thank you Forge for the wonderful service!

Not good to hear Queen, I have that wastegate too! Can I ask what the symptoms were when it failed? I might email them and see if I can get the revised part too.

How is your car getting on? Any new mods?

You can't miss it, check engine light was constantly on, would stay on even after restarting the car and the logged fault was something like pressure too high - overboost condition.
In my case (ripped diaphragm) the pressure wasn't able to be contained, then the valve couldn't open, which caused the turbo to over-spin and overboost.

No new mods, will have a remap this month I'm aiming at about 280bhp.

I can't believe what I have just read.... this all happened to me!! I got the CEL up and it showed the fault code as 'overboost' and I had terrible problems, My engine would cut power and made less than standard power on the dyno... me and my tuner couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong so I ended up changing out my yellow actuator spring for the green one and updated the Revo map and it sort of fixed it but my car only made 205bhp on stage 2 and now I know why, I have a ripped diaphragm the same as you! I hope it hasn't damaged my engine... better get on the phone to Forge.

Did you fix yours ok with the revised wastegate?

I'm very glad you mentioned this now..... thanks!

Good luck with the remap 280bhp sounds fantastic.

There is a way to check the diaphragm's condition without removing the wastegate. There is a tool that connects with a long and thin hose to the hole on the head of the wastegate and applies pressure so you can check when the actuator moves to open the valve. Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIBKyFi9YqY but it can be done as I said without removing the wastegate.
Yes, a new diaphragm would be enough but since the new part will keep it from getting ripped again, even better.
Happy I could help! :D
Thank you!

New dyno and a new race against my bf's GTI Edition 30 DSG after a new more aggressive tune.

New boost specs 1.7 bar hold, 1.45 redline, 282ps on Dyno Dynamics (about 295bhp on maha*) and 410Nm(!) torque, no DSG cuts.

Much better, stronger throughout the rev range. I'd prefer a lower torque but unfortunately we couldn't do anything, it was inevitable with this power.

*about 12-15bhp difference between the 2 dynos, checked with many cars including my bf's who tried both with the same setup, fuel, temperature etc.
