Aye an ECU reset will only temporarily change things, it will adapt itself back again.

ah :) but see i have the pd160, which adds me another 20 bhp and gets more air in

dunnit? init? :p

so defo by taking the batt lead of for a while wont lose a remap?? i`ve had a new clutch in mine recently & the batt lead was taken off while the new clutch was being done.

why do u reset every 4-6 weeks? what u do, just take the batt lead off for abit?
I do it every 4-6 weeks because i do 2000 miles a month at steady speeds (trying to keep fuel costs down at the moment so ging for 50+mpg on each journey) but gradually the car gets less responsive. I just whip the battery lead off for 20-30 mins, reset the windows, mirrors, radio and clock and carry on with a perkier car again.
Works a treat every time, and reminds you of thet "Just remapped" responsiveness. :D

ive got a green filter in mine and the only way to make it 'roar' abit is to smooth the air box and put in a bigger pipe to allow more air in, i guess turbo engines have a different inlet pipe but mine was only like an inch dia. so i replaced it with a 3.5inch pipe, sounds better, does naff to performance.

You can do this to the TDI's too. I did it to mine. I took it off last month to compare, but it's going back on when i get a spare half hour this week.

well!! i never knew that [B)] what happens to the windows & mirrors? mine had the batt lead of recently & i`ve not noticed anything wrong. it seems strange by resetting the ecu gives it a perk.
