Hi i know this may be a long shot but i have a clarion DXZ948RMP in my car. The problem is it forgets all my personal settings on it when the car hasnt been active for a few days. Ie all my preset radio stations get reset when i have not been in the car for a few days. Its as if the radio resets itself after a few days

Any help appreciated

Thanks

The problem you have sounds like you have the permanant live and switched live the wrong way round. All VAG cars I have had dealings with have these two wires reversed to the standard ISO plug. I had to reverse them in my Leon and my Golf.
Get a multimeter and see which is switched and which is permanant.

I would/did, because a some of the wires on the loom/connector to the Aura won't match up with with the Clarion

http://www.icecavern.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112

For example pin 3 on the power connector which is ODB diagnostics in the car, and quite often telephone mute on aftermarket radios, this wire isn't included in the adaptor, so you don't wire incorrect pins up.

Unless you feel comfy removing wires from the original plug and swapping pins over to match the Clarions pin out, for the sake of a tenner I'd rather not :D

Did u use an aerial booster or is the reception ok?
I got my kit from http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Car_Stereo_fitting_kits/seat.htm

You probably just need to swap 2 wires over as VAG cars have the permanent and switched live reversed on the iso connector..

This is the loom that came with my 7 year old alpine tape deck. It's easier then trying to explain. You might need to add the connector, I didn't they were already there.

Edit: On this one there isn't anything going to pin 3 so no problems. To make it easy they are all numbered on the iso plug.
