Has anybody had an annoying rattle going over bumps from the tailgate? , I have checked the rear seat catches and also checked the tailgate itself and its solid, sounds as if its coming from inside it, any ideas?

I have exactly the same thing, is it quite rattle like mainly when going over bumps/small pits in the road? If it is it will be the tail gate trim...trouble is as Im discovering it seems hard to cure....Seat are going to fit a 4th trim to my car to see if this one cures it.....its very annoying and too loud for my liking...but have to say Seat Watford are being very very helpful and doing all they can to sort it.

Most definitely! I had exactly the same problem...For some reason a couple of the metal clips were broken and were loose!

Seat replaced all the trim which has sorted it!

Screw loose

Thanks , I will pull it to bits and have a look, sounds like a clip or screw rattlin.

Good luck with getting the trim off
It a mega PITA
I was swinging from mine and still couldn't get it off
I'm 13 1/2 stone

I had the same roblem when trying to remove mine...Wouldnt come off at all!

Seat did it all in the end lol

Is it something thats covered under warranty?, I have 10 months left.

Where did you get it from!?

I bought mine from LC Charles and they replaced the lot under warranty. I've honestly had nothing but good service from them!

I was just nice and polite and they said they would sort it! I'm always asking them to fix stuff lol

Cheers danieltm I had a look and will give it a bash, as for the dealers Al G,well
they worry me those mechanics, I had an escaping dipstick trying to get out its hole after a service as someone hadnt pushed it home fully.
So I try not to visit the dealers to much, only enough to keep the warranty.

If its still under warranty i would take it back mate. It really is a pain in the ar5e to take off and put back on again. And the clips do bent and pop off easy so you could be back to square one again when trying to replace it!

As the guys above have said, if its under warranty, dont even bother yourself...its not an easy job and you are likely to break the trim...

Rattle sorted

Yipee found my rattle it was the bulb holders for the reverse and fog lights, some pieces of sticky foam later and problem solved:funk:

I have the same problem at the moment, seems to be quite common. Has been in to Westgate Seat in Grimsby once, but didn't fully cure the problem, plus you could see the screw driver marks where they has prised the trim apart. They have ordered some new trim and clips in though, so sounds like at least one was broken.

Guys, If the noise you have sounds like a metal on metal tap and soounds like its coming from the central area of the tailgate then its probably what Ive had which is a faulty boot release. Ive just had this replaced under warranty and no more rattle! this was after 4 boot trim replacements....I found I could generate the noise by just lifting the boot catch until the slack is taken up and then rocking up and down and little bit..the rattley tap can be heard......hope it helps you...

I had to have mine adjusted too. While they were at it they slapped a load of copper grease on it to stop any squeaks.
