Colder air has more o2 in it. You also normally get a benefit at the intercoller too but ours are water cooled.

I'm doing 3 runs: standard, subtle box setting and aggressive box setting. The 100 miles above was on aggressive!

100 miles without using any lines of fuel :). First time I've done that so I'm hoping for some good performance after the return tonight when I fill it back up.

I managed to do 138 miles the other day before the first bar dropped. That was on a 150 mile trip though so not my everyday driving :)

It sounds like I don't do nearly the motorway mileage that you do, which is probably a big factor as my daily commute is a 16 mile trip on country roads lol

What I do notice is the big difference that the external temperature makes. Today was 8 degrees and I managed to get 53.5 mpg to work while a couple of weeks ago when it was about 1 degree, I struggled to get to 45mpg due to the engine taking an age to warm up. How ever the summer months should make a massive difference so roll on the warmer days :D

I noticed the temperature made a massive difference for me too today. I managed a massive 53.2mpg on the way to work this morning which is hard enough driving in Milton Keynes anyway. But on most days when the temp is below 6 degrees I get about 38mpg

I'm currently managing around 36-37 mpg in my 1.8 SC. This is about 60% town driving. On motorway runs I've seen anywhere up to 45mpg which I'm pretty happy with!

Confused with my results, despite achieving 120+ miles before losing a dash off the fuel gauge, a fill to fill test revealed a meager 36 mpg despite the dash showing 43mpg. I know they lie but 7 mpg or 15%+ difference seems a lot to me?

Thats what I was thinking.. saying that, when is the tank full and when is it FULL, I can stand there and dribble another 4-5 litres into the tank long after its clicked off and it still seems to take it.. (no puddle on the floor either) In the end the guy behind me was getting very impaitent (as was I TBH) so left it there... could explain the massive swing.
sounds like a stupid question but when is full full?!?

I only ever do first click and I was using the same pump for all of my tests. You're right if you let it settle I bet you could get 2 litres in, thats like 30miles for me.

In VCDS you can add the display for how much is in the tank.
