Hello all

Does anybody know why rear parking sensors are not an option for the Leon FR
I had them on my last car.

Thor :D

Rear FR bumper is a different shape to other bumpers in the Leon range, therefore the sensors haven't been designed to fit in the FR bumper (or at least not tested and certified by seat,) although i suspect there would be no issue with them being fitted!

would like to have these as well, as im the worlds worst parker !!!!
anyone tried to order them on their fr ???

I had the parking sensors retro-fitted on my FR in October last year. They were delayed because SEAT had withdrawn them until they received type approval for the FR so I assumed they were now type approved. Anyway, all four sensors fit into the rear diffuser and look as if they were factory fitted.
Cheers,
Chris.

Hi Chris, any chance of a couple of pic's, I would like to have them fitted as I don't trust the wife as the current car has them and the FR wont.

I'll see if I can take some tomorrow, they won't be that great as I've only got a phone camera but hopefully you'll get the idea.

still not a factory option but checked with parts and Seat do approved aftermarket sensors for the fr at around £200 ish fitted

We do them for the FR (4 x sensors) colour coded to suit £200 all in (inc VAT).

If you can do them yourself, e-bay have some unusual sensors!!

They had just been type approved when i picked my FR up in November, I was led to believe they all fitted within the Black area of the bumper so not requiring colour coding. any chance you can clarify please. I was quoted approx £200.00 as well.

Would have added them as a factory option (as i did on my Altea) but have decided that i managed for the first fifteen years of driving without them so would see how i got on

just been told today by direct seat that my FRTDI has just been built [31/1/07]
so at least it has stopped me wanting to change the colour[ its silver]
told by direct seat that they will prob be able to fit the rear sensors and tom tom prep thingy when car arrives....

My first attempt to post pictures didn't seem to work so I'm having another go. The sensors are all in the rear diffuser so there is no need for colour coding.

those pics make me think I could do it myself. I've already fitted some cheap sensors from maplin which sit either side of the number plate. Looks OK but before I screw them in to place I might consider getting some of the flush mounted type and cutting some holes. This part of the bumper is really soft. I drilled a small hole behind the number plate for my current sensor wires and it was no effort at all.

does anyone know how these sensors alert you, is it via an external beeperr sort of thing fixed to dash area or via radio head unit ???

RPSensors - number plate version

I bought the version that is a bracket for your rear number plate. 30 mins to fit, and a couple of hidden holes in the bumber.... cinch

My SEAT dealer has ordered the SEAT accessory parking sensors for my forth coming Leon Cupra and SEAT UK have told him that they are approved but the accessory details haven't been updated on the web site yet.

Just not sure exactly where they are going to fit them though!

If OEM they will alert via maxidot.....so if factory fitted the vehicle will have maxidot (MFD, multi function display)

I had mine fitted before I picked the car up and its the same as Chrissywis. Not as good as others I have had fitted but a lot better than nothing.
