I recently finished my car and was checking the washers... The rear one dosnt seem to work annd I noticed water leaking out of the passenger side plastic tray . I checked under the air box but couldn't see any problems

I have recently had the same problem, my hose had become disconnected near the top right area of the bonnet (as you look at it from infront of the car). As consequently had soaked the sound deadening fabric. Was really easy to fix just clipped the hose back in.

Where about is it? as I couldn't find anything under the air box that looked disconnected

That's what you get for owning a SEAT Ibiza I'm afraid.

The rear washer being disconnected is a really common fault. IIRC it's when it's on a cold day and the washer pipe freezes up. Then when you try and use it, it just bursts off.

I got fed up of it so I just de-wipered it!!

Sorted that for you. All VW cars have the problem with the rear washer pipe.

its leaking round the engine bay area as when I used the washers it can be found dripping out of the plastic tray under neath

is the front washer working? if not the pipe might have come off at the pump which is a bugger to get at ( need to take front passenger wheel off then take off inner splash guard which are on with torx screws). mine has come off at every joint now i have sealed the one under the bonnet and the one in the boot and then it came off in the rear bumper somewhere because its pissing out just behind the rear driver side wheel so i'll have to take that off sometime and seal that joint up aswell.

It's a common fault, Its happened to all 3 SEAT's i've had. I fixed once but I tend to just ignore it and try not to use it now. I reconnected the hose inside the boot trim on the inside of the boot
