I thought about doing that, is it expensive and stupid question but do they leave the seats wet??

I have a kind of industrial strength foam spray can which works REALLY well and other peeps can vouch for me too as i have cleaned theirs with it ;)

I would say foam spray is the best to be honest

You just spray it on and then use a cloth to need (sp?) the dirt out, dont scrub it though just firmly glide the cloth over the fabric and it should lift it out! It will be wet for a bit but once dry it looks SO much better

I think the can is called Kent? I got it from my friend at his garage but not sure where they sell it?

My local guy charges £30.00 to do the interior and that includes full fabric shapoo and hoover. evertime i go down for the clean i tell him dont worry about the outside i just want a full interior clean & shampoo, and everytime i go down to pick it up he power washes the car top to bottom for the hell of it. funny guy.:D

lol....red interior....i used to have nightmares with that interior....

i used to do what most of you do.....local valeter.....easiest way!

I got mine shampooed at the weekend, £5 a seat, and it's the best £20 i've spent! Well, on the interior at least!! They were absolutely minging, I hate to think what all the marks and blobs and stains were... But they look really nice now :)

Does the same cleaning process apply to the grey cloth on the seats? I left my drivers window open once and it rained and my drivers side seat got wet and then dried leaving a few water marks [:@]

I do my seats/carpet using a steam cleaner (about £60), which is superb. It leaves the seats a little damp. The steam gets rid of everything, leaves the upholstery soft.

Its a good purchase as you can do household carpets and sofas etc also with it.

Mind you, what I found steam cleaning, which is probably true of all these types mentioned is how clean it gets depends on the time you take, there are no wonder substances etc.

I used lots of towels, usually white so you can see the dirt, and run them across the upholstery slowly but firmly, they soak up the moisture and with it the dirt.

Funny smells, like dog smells, can be gotten rid of by using white vinegar mixed with water.

But maybe get a lot of towels, all a steam cleaner or above mentioned products do is break down the dirt, you have to remove it, which is the time consuming part. Id recommend lots of towels for that bit.

If you got untold amounts of money you could allways just throw the seats away when they get dirty then buy new ones again.

my old man got a upholstery shop il ask him what he uses but i know what ever stuff i nicked from the shop worked a treat, they like new again
