ReMap - Help!!!

Hey guys and gurls....

had my car re-mapped this weekend, the mapper said it could take a little while to take full effect fo the map... these are my VAG-COM results after 100 odd miles, they dont seem right???

Its a stage 1 map (not revo or CC)


is it my car (boost leak somewhere, checked, cant find any) or a valve???

or the map?? Thanks for looking.

Doesn't look right at all. Who mapped it? Its only requesting 13.5psi boost max. Try logging 115 and 118 together from 2000rpm to redline.

Edit: just noticed the 118 log. Almost seems like a mapping fault to me but i could be wrong. Any fault codes?

Hi mate. Had a nosey through your previous posts cause im also in Staffordshire and I see your names Ben and you have a red Cupra just like me! Freaky eh? lol. Maybe see you around sometime!

Anyway if your mapper has got anything about him surley he'd be happy to take a look at it for you?

Yeah, i cant knock the mapper, hes been fantastic! hes going though code etc with the programmers. I dont wanna name the co as i think this is just a hickup and i dont want him getting bad feedback!


only fault code i had was....

18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low

P1602 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

checked fuses etc and they seem ok....

He said he did have problems writing the code through the ODB II port as it looks like the car had a REVO trial on it at some point... so he had to take the ECU out and do something.

possibly needs a reflash?

Do my boost lvls other then that look ok? i noticed that my actuall boost was a fare bit lower then the requested? N75?

Yeh thats fair enough. Boost levels do look low though, on revo and others you see around the 2400mbar (20psi) mark.

Your wastegate reading on block 118 do look a bit jumpy which could point to a dodgy N75. Have you tried resetting the ECU and doing a throttle body alignment? How did the car run before the remap? Does seem like a software error to me though.

You should feel a big difference from a remap to be honest. Your best off disconnecting the battery for 20 mins to reset the ecu, then open the bonnet and turn on the ignition. Listen for a clicking sound then a faint buzzing noise from the throttle body. When the buzzing has stopped the throttle body alignment is complete. Only do this when the car is stone cold though.

Clear all fault codes and do another log of blocks 115 and 118 afterwards. You can also log 020 for timing pull. If nothings improved then it might be worth letting your mapper have another butchers at it as im pretty sure its down to the mapping as your requested boost is pretty low.

Its not a case of giving bad feedback, but people who have the same map as you might of had the same problems in the past so could help.

Foe example when I first got my car mapped the car had problems. Turned out to be a mixture of the map not being 100% and some dodgy hoses.

A phone call to the mapper and job done, I was booked in and re re-mapped again. Now the car is fantastic.
