Looking at getting a remap for my 55K mile manual 2017 seat Leon fr technology 1.8 tsi 180hp CJSA but heard that you need an uprated clutch fitted or else it will start slipping within a few weeks after a remap. Just wondering if anyone else has had a remap done on their car and if you had to have a new clutch fitted?

If you are getting a "stage 1" remap, you dont need to change anything. Its based on a bone stock car. If you hear stories of clutch slipping after remap, then either:

1) the clutch was already on its way out
2) its might be a bad tune

My advice: get a remap from a reputable company. They have tried and tested maps, which are deemed safe.

Whilst I agree with @nd-photo.nl I would add that the clutches on these and 2 Litre motors are not designed for large increases in power.

So if you are looking at Stage 2/3 then you will need to upgrade the clutch, back in the day we used to say the clutches are made of chocolate.
