From the logs ive got my stage 2 'generic mapped' car holds its own pretty well too.

i was thinking the same, surely with a remap I'd be on a par even if he does have a K03s and exhaust

nope.. your car will be around 195 - 200 with a remap.

get the ko3s and exhaust it will be closer to 220 :)

look at my spec below, I currently have 220bhp and 235lb torque, friend with an ibiza got 197 with revo and powerflow exhaust. your R is exactly the same as a cupra except it is better mapped from factory

yes but remeber I'm comparing mine with a leon so even if he has an extra 20bhp the extra weight will cancel it out.

I know what my R is, not saying it's any different than a normal cupra apart from the map.

I agree the k03s is a better turbo but don't think you should automatically right off the k03. It might not hold power to the redline but it should peak around the same as a k03s, end of the day if they produce the same boost they'll make the same power. It's just the K03s will hold the power for longer.

Why would I want to sell my car lol. I don't intend to put a K03s on it or spend a large amount of money on it. I just want to up the power sufficiantly so it's on a par with my brothers Leon.

For say £500 I should be looking at around 200-210bhp and 240lbs which in my eyes will keep up with a k03s remapped Leon. The only reason I'm using his car as a comparison is I know how quick it feels and I want similar performance.

Would cost me a lot more than £500 to upgrade to a LCR

its the same engine as the 156bhp cupra tho

so they remap to the same hence why the R only gains 20 or so

Othere way of putting it.... the R already has a slight remap over the cupra as standard but will still only get up to 200 BHP with a full remap, and with out the ko3s you have no chance of keeping up with him also if the cars are warm the LCR has 2x the size intercooler as you AND if he has a zorst wich helps the gasses get out quicker then again youl be wiastting power pushing your gasses out wich he is using as driving power.
All the mods iv done has taken my car to 253BHP

So to keep up with him youl need a remap + turbo back zorst induction kit and a FMIC and that should give you 220BHP that will last ok. the power to waight is not that much differant between the 2

Leon Cupra has one intercooler

The R has 2

A remapped Ibiza Cupra will easily beat a remapped Leon Cupra and will easily beat a standard 225bhp Leon Cupra R

imho of course and going by bhp/tonne

It was a remapped LC, not a LCR.

Ok Leon Cupra weighs 1308kg

220bhp leon Cupra = 168bhp/tonne

Thats 30bhp/tonne down on a remapped Ibiza Cupra

I know where my money would go and thats on the Beeza any day of the week.

Standing start or rolling

My money would be (and has been) on a LCR... I understand what your saying about the bhp per tonne, but on the road it doesn't seem to unfold like that.....

opened up a can of worms here, oops!

Anyway I'm going to see about getting a remap of some description (jabba, revo or cc) so we'll see for sure then. If all else fails I'll steal his keys and swap Turbos when he's not looking!

If Leon Cupra's come with a K03s as standard there must be some in a scrap yeard somewhere, hmmmmmm (JK goes looking for a crashed Leon Cupra)
