Removal of paddle shift extensions

Morning all

looking for best way to remove the residue that will be left by the sticky backing of the DSG paddle shift extensions.

I will use a hair dryer to heat up and remove the extension but what is the best way to remove the residue that will be left on the back of the fitted paddle?

Furniture polish or if really bad some label remover

Goo gone is good.

However on reading a number of 'broken my paddle removing the extension' messages across various forums, I'd suggest getting some fishing line to feed in and see if you can help cut through the sticky pad.

Or just leave them on, and buy a new set for the next car. Cheaper than a replacement paddle.

WD40 is excellent at removing residual adhesive, spray on a cloth and hold it on the area to allow it to soak in, then rub away.

I've always used rubbing alcohol to remove any sticky/glue-like residue.

Doesn't work on everything, depends on the glue. White spirit is another one to try.
