Removing A Knob Ooeerr

just ordered a seat sport gear knob from seat today how do i remove the old gear knob i dont want to go at it like a bull in china shop as usaul any help would be great before i destroy my car

ps the post in FAQ ibiza part numbers is spot on my local seat dealer is well in to this ordered a few bits today thanks who ever wrote all the part numbers down

lift up the gaitor and cut off the old clip with a pair of side cutters.

is the gear knob and gear stick all in one do i need a new clip then

no the shaft/shick is seperate and you will need a new clip or small hose clip to do the job once you lict the gaitor up youll see the goldy coloured clip hich needs to be cut then the knob just lifts off

when i fitted my short throw shifter i managed to get the clip off the gear knob without breaking it, just be gentle and forceful at the same time!! ha ha

i will give it a go ive ordered a spare clip from seat just to be on the safe side

I replaced mine with a cupra gear knob and mannaged to use the old clip, you can strech it out and grip it back!

my seat sport gear knob came with a new clip it feels a lot better than the standard cupra item

What does it look like? What do you mean by 'feels better'? Is it shorter or is the knob just a better shape?
