removing ashtray to wire gauge??

how do I remove the ashtry as I want to wire my gauge into it, makes more sense than trailing wires to the ignition etc

push it down very very hard and then the hole thing pops down then just lift it out sorta side ways thats how i did mine,very easy to do mate

there is 2 10mm nuts under the gear gaitor undo them and pull the trim up job done

where abouts? i couldnt see any nuts.. I pulled the gator up and all I see is the gear stick and the silver casing that connects to the gator

also I couldnt get the ashtray out by just pushing it, well I got it to move down but the're not enough room to work with

when you lift the gaitor up there is a rubber cover lift that up and in the bottom corner there will be the two black nuts

just slide the lid back and push down realy hard ,it feels like you will almost brake it but you wont it will pop down this is how i did thid ,trust me it works

that is a scanguage. very nice piece of kit ,just bought one myself but have not fitted it.
