I left my phone in my car on Saturday for 5 mins while popping into SWMBO's parent's and some little $hite decided he liked the look of it, broke the passenger front window and nicked it.
Yep, I know I shouldn't have left it in the car (it was tucked away in the slot under the stereo).
Anyway.......RAC man came out last night at around 10:30 to change the glass, but he couldn't get the glass out of the bottom of the door. So, I now have a car that sound like a bottle bank skip, with about half a smashed window rattling around inside.
Anyone have any ideas about getting it out, without resorting to pulling the inner door card off?? At the moment, it looks like I will be trying to make an extension for the Dyson out of some flexible pipe I have at work and pushing it down into the two holes in the inner door card that have rubber/plastic bungs over. Does anyone know what access around there is like? I think the pipe is around 20mm OD and fairly squidgy. Will I have clearance to get it pushed to the bottom of the door??
The window is now really slow to go down and come back up, so I don't think it is aligned correctly in the runners and need to get that looked at.
I also think the guy who repaired it has broken one of the stud clips for the door card up by the mirror, as it won't sit flush.
I will be getting RAC to pay for a new door card if that is the case.
Any suggestions on the above would be appreciated!
