replacement speakers for mk3 ibiza cupra r

Has anyone replaced the standard speakers in their mk3 ibiza cupra r or cupra?

The standard ones sound awful. Could anyone recommend any.

not too expensive. Just want 4 replacement speakers to replace what is there and to keep the exsisting HU.

check this shop out , sell some cheap clarion stuff , my mate fits it to most of the cars he works on , and they sound quality , http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZjawo797 , 13cm for the back i think , and 16.5cm for the front , i always go for clarion head units , as the sound quality is excellent , and IMO they are the best sounding headunits out there for the price , obviously not as good as mcintosh , and nackamichi but im not running that good speakers no more

ok i'll have a look on the internet for some at this size. Do you know anyone who has replaced theirs and what did they use?

i know for definate 16.5cm / 17cm will fit the front

You might as well just buy some cheap ones if you looking for straigh replacements, if you buy decne tones make sure you sound deaden around them to get the best out of them!

yeah the back ones are a smaller version of 6x9's. i think they are 4x6's....does anyone know what size they are for definate?

Remember you will have to buy some Speaker Pods to fit aftermarket speakers. They only cost around £15 from halfords or similar places

Are the JBL components straight replacements? And are you running them off you standard HU?

What are the sizes of them and where did you get them from?

Yes you will need the speaker pods as the standard ones have them built in. They are easy to get hold of tho and like i said only about £15

JL all round for me NO sub at all and ive had people in my car that say your sub sounds just right not to bassy.......ha no sub just hot speakers

jl's are expensive , around £300 for a set of components , have a search on the american ebay , ebay.com , you come across some cheap ones on there sometimes , i bought a set from australia for £90 over a year ago , and the rrp on them was £315 , sold them a year later for £150

17cm JL in the front and JL 6*9 in the back shelf

all powerd by a phoenix gold 4 ch amp

i'm running an alpine touch screen head unit, alpine r type components front and back & 2 x 12" r type subs but just blown my front speakers so bought sum focal 1s instead just waiting to fit them
