Hi,

This is me 1st post, sorry if not following protocol.

Replacement MAF meter required for my 2002 Leon Cupra (part 06A906461L), and I am wondering if generic replacements are any good? and if any one has experience running one? The reason I ask is that the Bosch part seems much more expensive!

Main dealer just quoted me £215+VAT for part from Seat (presumed to be a Bosch)
Bosch part on Ebay I see listing approx. £160 delivered
Generic parts on Ebay and online parts dealers c. £30-£50

I've cleaned mine with electrical cleaning solution following a guide on this forum which improved things quite a lot ) but I am still experiencing occasional poor running particularly from cold. I purchased a diagnsotic code reader and codes confirm my suspicions.

I want to replace with something reliable, and all seem to have a 12 month guarantee, so is it safe to chance it on the cheapest option? or am I potentially throwing money away and better investing in Bosch. Alternatively does anyone know where I might source a cheaper priced Bosch MAF?

Cheers

got mine from GSF recently, very good service, fast delivery. My local dealer wanted £180. I think i paid £65 from GSF + £25 surcharge which you get back when you return your old one to them :)

Can highly recommend GSF

All the dealers I contacted about mine (Seat/VW/Audi) all wanted the same price which was around £65-70 cant remember exactly.
Ring one back and ask them for the part number there quoting you on, would love to look it up and see what it is lol

Cheers for response, I'll forget my local Seat and try another dealer as it sounded way off despite quoting on the exact reference I gave them. I've also contacted GSF, they seem a good option thanks for the advice.

my local dealer gave me the option of a refurbed one for £80 + VAT or brand new one for £180, maybe the lower price is for a refurbed one. Go with GSF or europarts.

again gsf... 58+vat exchange for your old.... best way, take yours off, get a lift to gsf then you wont have to pay surcharge at all.... genuine bosch item aswell
