It does sound good in the 300, wish I had got a hatchback instead of the ST so it sounded better for less
Yeah, my ST is very muted (standard). But sounds from this thread like even with a res delete it won't be much better?

Does the ST have extra silencers?

What have ST owners done to improve the noise?

I am also looking for a solution to get 2019 ST Cupra little bit louder. New ST's should have 2 extra silencers, correct me if I'm wrong...

Get a zaustworxs res delete and it will be better. It’s enough to keep you happy, you can hear the burbles and pops from in the car and the dsg farts. If you push it hard enough in comfort you can get dsg farts. For £70 you can’t really go wrong.

I’ll have to get a video up at some point of my st being driven.

And this is possible with the new Cupra ST's also?

A vid would be great Titchy, thanks.

Confused though - last couple of posts suggests "new" STs can't do this mod. What counts as "new"? (mine is 18).

And if they've had the centre silencer removed already then it my simplistic mind they should already sound "louder", but mine is really quiet! (I feel like I am in a very small minority when I saw I wouldn't mind if the Soundaktor was louder!!!)

My soundaktor was louder than my exhaust aswellI, embarrassing!

Might go to a place that makes stainless exhausts and just change the two back boxes rather than go and buy a cat back scorpion, must be a lot cheaper, that way I can have any tailpipe that's available, well hopefully its cheaper??

A guy on the Facebook group done cat back after the gpf in 2.5" pipe and it sounds great. I'm considering that now.

The Golf R estate post GPF has no resonator and a permanent open valve yet on the forums there people complain it’s quiet too

The GPFs must dampen them somewhat

Coming from a MY16 manual 280 I've been happy with the sound on the 2019 Cupra.

Deeper exhaust note as standard and plenty of the exhaust pops. I've had a few "DSG farts" nothing like the videos of previous DSG Cupras.

Whilst my Cupra is in the shop I've been give a 18 plate R as my daily.

Really surprised at how much better that sounds. As far as I can tell the exhaust is standard on the golf, with the 4 pipes. It's extremely deep (very bassy). To the point where I don't hear the pops with the same clarity as the Cupra.

Would the Res Delete on the 2019 make the Cupra exhaust sound deeper?

Not bothered about anymore the pops and bangs. I've also accepted the new style DSG fart for what it is.

Morning guys, I have a 2017 St 300 and when I first got the car the first thing on the list was a res delete. Took it to a local Powerflow exhaust place, 3” pipe job done. I was so excited about the pops and bangs but it did not happen. The silencers either side of the exhaust tip are mahoosive, no wonder no noise. So I ordered myself a catback exhaust from a German company called Friedrich Motorsport, you can ave different exhaust tips even carbon ones like Akrapovic. It came with chrome tips which I sprayed blk then off to the exhaust place it went to be fitted. OMG what a complete difference this made, in comfort mode just a nice rich rumble, in sport or cupra mode, pops bangs over runs in any gear it sounds amazing, there are a few guys on the forum who have heard it. Res delete on there own on a St just don’t work.

^^ Have you got a vid / sound clip of the new exhaust Deano?

In the past, I've often gone down the Milltek non-res route, and though they're not cheap I would buy again, as sometimes I think you get what you pay for! Sounds good:

It may be the same as the 290, only the 280 is different because it has an extra resonator/silencer, at least your version is cheaper.
