Hello everyone, i was inspired by another thread on this topic on here, however this was for the pre-facelift model 13-16 year. seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4714012

I have ordered a new model (MY18 i think) Leon FR Titanium Technology, these were pre-specced cars so unfortunately there was no way to alter/add options to it. Hence why I'm here :D

On the thread i linked above, a few users with the new model Leon's like mine have tried to do this but cannot find the options in VCDS to do it. So i am asking for help to anyone who knows how to do this on the new model Leons. Or could anyone confirm if the part numbers in the previous thread will work for Light sensor and Light switch.

I have full access to a Vag-Com, just want to know if i can defiantly order the parts from the previous thread,as they still look the same from the previous model.

They were:

-RLHS Sensor: 5Q0955547A

-Auto Light switch: 5G0941431AF

Any help much appreciated. Auto Lights is an invaluable option for me personally :p

Thanks.

Im in the same boat.
I've done the physical install and can confirm both part numbers are correct. The sensor is working as I now have auto wipers (without any coding) and the light switch works as should other than auto which gives "vehicle lighting fault" message.
Tried coding on obdeleven and VCDS but with no success. After following the instructions on the other thread the sensor doesn't show up in the drop down menu. When on the long coding helper it doesn't give any description for what each byte is. I'm lead to believe the newer VCDS cable is required to get the long coding helper to work.

Good to know the part numbers are same, thanks for that. Just a matter of coding the auto lights now

Yip easier said than done
I'm planning on buying the new cable at some point in the next few months hopefully. If/when I do I will keep you posted on if I get it working. Would/should work with the older cable if only the long coding helper worked!

I believe the new one is the "HEX-V2"
They come in 3-VIN Limited, 10-VIN limited and UNLIMITED VIN so your brothers one might well be the new one. You would need to check the model/version of your brothers cable to know for sure

I'll check with him to see, hopefully it is the newer one! Do you know if the long coding helper works on the newer cables?

I don't know for definite that it does work on the newer cable but I know for definite that it doesn't work with the older cable so this is my only hope ATM lol

Fingers crossed!

Once i get my car, i'll try his cable (if it is the newer one) and report back my findings, maybe a how-to guide as well if i manage to get it done.

No,and they will not get anywhere.
New facelift BCM doesn't have coding anymore, only parametrization.
If you scan facelift BCM it will show coding as zeroes only.

For example:

Are you saying on the facelift model, theres no way of getting autolights and auto wipers unless it was from factory? I really want autolights on my leon fr facelift

No,it is possible,I switched to facelift BCM and facelift Gateway because of retrofit of facelift headlights.

I am only saying VCDS is useless here.
It can be parametrized with other tools e.g. VCP,but you need a lot of experience not to brick the module.
