Retrofitting Dynamic Indicators

Hi there,

Got my Seat Leon MK4 ST in Nov 2022 and was disappointed to find it didn’t have the dynamic indicators or welcome sequence on the rear light bar.

I emailed seat CS the other day and they got back saying that it cannot be retrofitted but I don’t believe them.

Has anyone got any clues about how it could be done, from what I’ve read regarding why it was not included was due to chip shortages. Could it be a control unit that could be plugged in or is this something controlled by the main computer.

Also wanting blind spot detection which would have been much more useful than the useless auto parking feature but that’s for another day.

Hello,

Have you had any issues with the indicators since you did this modification? I keep thinking about doing it nyself. Would you be able to give a guide how to go about doing it? I have a link to the part from your video comment.
Hi. I have no problems. No errors, no freezes. Everything works perfectly.

That's good to hear. Do they come with instructions on how to fit?
yes. it's very simple. there are 3 cables. you cut the plus cable from the turn signal and connect this module to it, one is for ground. you don't have to cut the ground. apparently some model (I think Audi A5) has the same plug as Leon and you don't have to cut the cable.

Hello @witek_77

I have been unable to find the audi a5 dynamic indicator module that you said may fit as the one I found has 6 pins instead of 5. Do you happen to know which ones they are? Thanks.

unfortunately I don't know. I made a post on FB and someone told me I was stupid because he bought a ready-made one from Audi. I looked earlier but I didn't find such a plug either.

Thanks for checking. I don't fancy cutting wires on a pretty new car that's all. I'll keep looking to see if something turns up.

Der Link is 5 Pol from A4

This is the plug type. Its likely that the pins are wired differently in the audi versions. Surprised no one has made these for the Leon Mk4 considering so many didn't have them fitted due to shortages during covid.
