Reverse Camera Fault

I’ve recently started to get reverse camera issues.
It started a month or so ago, at first it just wasn’t coming up on the screen when putting it into reverse and then suddenly it was almost like it had fixed itself. The next day same issue but then it flickers on the screen and goes on n off. The head unit sometimes messes up too, turning the car off and it stays on a black screen for ages!
At the moment the camera just isn’t working at all.

Any ideas?

Only one reverse light on Leon Mk3, if possible try to see if the reverse lamp is working when the fault on the display occurs.

Any updates on the camera problem since your last post?

Mine stopped working in the winter, about a day after my number plate lights went out. I replaced both plate lights (the whole units, since they’re LED), but I still have no lights and no camera image either.

There are no fault codes, just a message on the screen saying, “Park Assist not available.”

In my case, I’m starting to think it’s probably a cracked or broken cable somewhere. Since the number plate lights and camera failed around the same time, it could be a wiring issue.
