Hello guys,

Just wondering if anyone's had any problems with their reverse light switch on an LCR. Mine has stopped working and been waiting 2 months and counting for dealer to get hold of one.

where is the reverse light switch and what does it look like? photo please

I have a picture of the reverse light switch I think part number is for manual gearbox 02T945415 Pretty easy 2 change aswell pm me and i will send pic

Try this parts place on 01908 625000 its essentially VW but they do all VAG parts, they are based in Milton Keynes but I find them much more helpfull than the dealers and they also hold loads of parts in stock.

If you still have no luck then perhaps you could wire in a manual switch as it will fail an MOT if it doesn't work

Reverse light isnt part of MOT so its not all bad. Just a bit of a pain when reversing onto a busy road because no-one lets you out if they dont see them reverse lights!!

Yeh think thats what they are called, I couldn't remember the name lol

And I may be mistaken phil but I'm 99% certain that it is part of the MOT, because my mate's mark 1 escort failed originally becoz it didn't have one

just find out the switch is fine, but the gearbox was a recondition one before i brought it and there is nothing inside the gearbox pushing the switch,
is it just a rod missing?anyone got a expose diagram of the gearbox bit?

reverse light switches are always going on leons and ibizas. real easy to fit. remove fuse box cover on side of dash unscrew all t25 screws, then remove all the screws on the lower side of the dash section up to the centre console. then pull that section of the dash away and the brake light switch is visible. unplug it and twist it anti-clockwise about 1/4 of a turn and thats it! opposite to fit! though the fault code will need to be erased as it is stored under engine electronic memory content.

reverse light switch is mounted on top of gearbox, can i have some of whatever you are smoking

Hi,

I fear this may be the same issue for my Leon. The reverse lights simply don't turn on when selecting the reverse gear.

Please can someone inform me as to the location of this swith etc.

Thanx
