reverse light

Hi guys and girls,

reverse light stopped working, naturally done the usual and changed the bulb, but its still not working, checked all my other lights, all A-ok.
It was working every now and then, sometimes came on, sometimes not, but its just dead.

Are there any checks i can do to see what the problem is? I've checked fuses, well most of the ones ive been able to find, and they seem ok.

Any other suggestions?

hello helms ! recently had this problem with a friends astra at first tried the obvious but did'nt work then it turned out to be a reverse light sensor which is attached to the gearbox, it's a bolt about 2 inches long with a small connecter on the end !

where would i be likely to find said bolt?

on my friend's astra it was in the centre on top of the gearbox ! it might be best if u try to get hold of one first,[ breakers maybe ] then u'll know what it looks like ! but i would double check the obvious before u go down that route !
