I'm seriously considering getting more bhp from my FR after a very annoying experience today. I was had by a Rover 200 BRM LE (damn they are fast). not sure if it was down to an early gear change from me or just that the rover had more power, but it left the driver with a very smug grin on his face as he passed me. i was not best pleased as you could imagine.....

lmao, i do need the revo. just the small matter of convincing my wife to let me shell the cash out. maybe she needs to feel the same shame i did! there's too many idiots in saxo's an mg zr's in my town. some of those zr's are quick too!

Just read this full thread and would I be right in saying that no one on here has had any kind of remap done to their Ibiza then? I was looking at getting a new 2.0 TDI FR and getting that remapped but as I mentioned in another thread, I cant actually find anywhere (Revo, Superchips, etc) that provides a map for that engine :( Bit surprised as well that no one has had one done yet on any of the other models..

Depends where the engine came from. If its out of a standard 2.0 Rover 136 bhp. If its out of a 2.0 coupe that they did, anything up to 197 bhp with a 0- 60 of 6.2 seconds. Top end of 150.

Some of the later ZRT's were 180 bhp standard. BRM was a 1.8 VVC engine it remained unchanged from the vi. The BRM just had a close ratio gearbox. Think he just caught you on the hop. I met up with one of those when I had my ST 170 a few years ago and it was not much of an effort to leave him behind even in that.

Oh I dont get out much:blink:

thanks techie.
(will sleep better tonight now lmao)
It was quick, he pulled away when i changed to 5th.
what bhp would the t series engine push out?

I used to own a rover 25 before the cupra.. and i have to say.. YOU GOT ROVERTAKEN

200bhp 2.0 T series in a 200 bubble, your talking 150 mph and 0-60 in 5.5
Although i reckons a stock Vi would win tbh.

150bhp ibiza with slush box is not staying with that.

I need a remap! After doing some rolling starts with my cousin's Alfa mito 155bhp. Rather annoying with kickdown feature it's just a pointless thing to have!

Its not all about increases in torque and power. A good map gives a better spreadable use of power. Looking at the power graphs back at the start of the thread, the torque curve is far nicer and gives a very good spread of useable power throughout the rev range instead of starting to tail off.

Chris, ibizaracebrake has had the revo map done to his cupra and he is well pleased with it. As far as I know however there is not a remap for the FR TDi yet mate. FR_POWER, use the thing called sport mode hehehehehehehehehe. Kickdown is annoying at the best of times but I have been playing around with my paddles and it is great that you can actually drop the gears yourself by over riding the auto box at least that way I know what to expect. I did that when I cam up against the scirocco and it worked a treat hehehehehehheee
