Ok I have bought these valves for my new 18" alloys which I will be putting on the car soon. I was just wondering if anyone could comment if these things were any good? Are they more trouble then they are worth, and I should just stick to a normal rubber valve and black plastic cap?

Heard things like corrosion and locking up, but not sure if this was about metal valves that stick out. These seem pretty flush when fitted and with a bit of WD40 under the cap, and wheel wax over the top this should be ok. Unless I loose the "Universal Fit Airline adapter" :cartman: (which can be bought separately)

Any advice welcome, cheers :)

people have had problems before with metal caps corroding.... because you know it'll be stuck when you really don't want it to be

I have 2 sets, brand new and unused.

I no longer require them.

You can have a set for £15 delivered.

PayPal me and I will post them out the next day.

Pictures are available, just send me your e-mail address via PM. And I will e-mail them to you.

Regards.

i had them ...they look really good! ...but they are such a pain, in the end i actually got bored of checking my tyres so i just ended up leaving them underinflated. the process of taking cap off valve, use tool to unscrew, turn the tool (which is a extension valve too) around and screw it to the pump, inflate tyre, then screw tool off, turn it around screw small valve back on, put cap on ...x 4

thats just a lazy teenagers opinion though

and that of a middle aged geordie.

look good, but what a faff.

and what happens when you mis-place the adaptor?
and wont it upset the wheel balance even if only very slightly? theres nothing worse in the world than a wobbly steering wheel.

I was going to put these on a previous car and the tyre fitter told me he had lost count of the amount of alloys that he had seen damaged trying to remove them, said they corrode into the hole and when ytou remove them the wheel inevitably gets it .... A nice set of chrome valve caps for me !! Oh yeah and some copper grease ... once all the local moped riders have got a set they stop stealing them as well *lol*
