Update: 30/01/2010

So Ive just finished servicing the old girl and ive ordered a new intake mani and "stealth" egr delete so that should be good.

Ive now switched to Castrol Edge fully synthetic oil, changed pollen filter(OEM), Champion oil filter, running an open cone filter (for now) and changed gearbox oil (OEM)

Also hoping to get some uprated intercooler pipes so I'll keep this updated

bascilly just letting people know ive still got the car, still doing little tweeks but Ive been too busy to go on the net really

What do you doing to make it a 'stealth' egr delete then?

I was looking at getting some uprated pipes mainly to spruce up the engine bay, but no one seems to do any for the 110 tdi, only for the cupras.

I look after the engine as it was feeling very tired lol, the gearbox oil i changed for peace of mind as the miles are getting on now, same reason I switched to fully synthetic oil. I was using semi the last couple of times, I know "our" engines arnt as fussy as the PD models but its just for peace of mind, but It does warm up quicker now lol

The rest of her is in a sorry state... had the front of a boiler dropped on the bonnet, so a lovely "speed bump" and scratch there now.. and then i got over ager reversing out the garage, the door wasnt fully up, and ripped the arial off (at the base ) and then to top it all, I had to take evasive action in the ice and have kerb'd one of my wheels and it needs a new pair of tie rods

apart from that, shes hunky dory lol

lol, sounds like she's taken a bit of a beating then recently! damage doesn't sound too bad though, sure you'll get it back into shape in no time.

that egr thing looks like a lot of effort for not much gain. lol. i prefer things that are little effort for a lot of gain!

haha i got lucky really mate, i was searching for a PD130/50 intake manifold and i was getting quotes of £60 from breakers for it, but I managed to find one on ebay, with the SRP aswell, for £35!

So i couldnt say no to that lol If the SRP is crap I'l mostly end up getting an Allards Power Pipe

After the tie rods are fixed, next will be importing some nice injectors

I gave car a good wash yesterday, drove 10 mins to fill up with fuel and to dry car out a bit so I can give her a good polish, get back and just covered and sh*t like I never washed it!

I think I'll leave polishing till weather is a bit better and no more crap on the road!!!

I keep thinking about getting a machine polisher, but for a decent one they're quite expensive!

yeah mate, Im impressed. Turbo seems to kick in even sooner now, and sounds mean and moody now haha, just need to try and get rid of the "diggadiggadigga" noise now

I want to put some money away now to get all the bodywork back up to scratch. Got a few dings that need taking out and a scrape on one of the rear arches (been there since i bought it)

I'd remove bottom of air box and run a nice big air feed to the filter.

What about painting the engine cover like I did? I reckon that would look smart.

I think a whole blue engine cover would look a bit naff. lol

Could spray it black but, I want something a bit different but not over the top if you get me? Lol Im a fussy bugger at times haha

I don't have photoshop but I think mine looked ok? I reckon it would look smart on yours as its a lot bigger
