Roof arial hell removal !!! 97 Mk2 ibiza

Can anyone give me any info on how to remove a seat ibiza roof aerial,, not the base,, just the aerial bit... it seems pretty solid !! any help would be appreicated.

twist anti clock-wise til it feels loose

then just wiggle it a bit and give it a good pull

Its the anti theft thing kicking in. I used pliers on mine I think.

yeah tis a pain. I just rotated and wiggled it until it came out. Gotta be careful not to damage it too much lol....

If it's in solid and anything like mine I ended up having to replace the whole lot (which upon reflection was the easier option anyway).

yeh about 2 months ago i was in the same dilemma, i didnt believe that it could come off because it seemed so stubborn. i just yanked it off in the end though hehe i had my new one waiting for like 2 weeks before i put it on.

On my 51 plate Cupra I had a horrible metallic blue aerial, so after getting on it with a pair of grips for about ten minutes, I managed to screw it off, although there is no way to fit my new one the thread is too wide, it did come with a couple of little bits to change it. What I'm wondering is does the actual threaded piece come out? Leaving something to screw into if you get what I mean...
