I think you put in a lot of effort and I applaud you for that. However i dont see why your spending money to make it something its not. Better off buying a pre-my03 cupra for like 4-5k.

Because I want to keep my insurance down atm (Currently £213 Fully comp) Another 3 years and I'll have a clean licence again so will be on the lookout for a new shape Leon Cupra.

Bought a chrome vent kit a few days ago as well. Was quite cheap.

Rookwise, can i ask you a random question?

Where did you get the rubber mattings stuff you have around by your gear stick?

I want to get some but i don't know where to get it from!

Cheers!!

Its a hand made one mate :)
I contacted the Ebay seller hot.gaiter to do mine. They do very good custom made bits. Had a few off them before.

Depends how you are going to fit it. To the original plastic holder (after undoing the staples holding the standard gaiter on. Quick and easy route) or if your going to what I've done and fit an alloy gear surround.

If you do what I've done. The surround will cost you £40 from Richbrook. There are cheaper ones found on Ebay though. Then get some welding rod and bend it to the shape of the alloy surround. Fit the gaiter to the gear knob and then fit to the gear column. Slide the alloy surround down over the gaiter. Then put the ends of the gaiter to the underside of the alloy surround. The welding rod then does inside the bottom of the gaiter so that it stays the same shape as the surround . Fix the surround down with screws and all done.

15-20 mins job max.

I saw the chrome covers for the facelift Leon at my SEAT dealer and liked them. Was gonna do a full swap and change to teardrop mirrors but they would have cost me £368 and then the teardrop covers £48.99 so turned out to be expensive.
Gave up till I came across these. Apparently to get them from Audi you have to prove you have an S3 and the covers are in the 3 figure mark. Got mine from Germany and also has the signature in pen of the person who made them written on the inside of the cover.

My brother-in-law has got a 03 plate 1.4 leon and its a very nice car for what it is and for the price he paid for it. Can't understand why you are spending so much on that car when it could go towards your next car unless you are thinking of taking the bits of it when you come to selling it.
