lol the LCR is a nice car, but its just not exciting and raw enough for me.

after having a number of MR2 turbos some stock some played with the LCR jsut feels like a average handling car with a bit of power.

Personally i blame my friend for letting me drive his supra a while ago, with a few basic additions they are a doddle to get over 400hp.

gorgeous cars.

you cant get five people in these though!

me personally, i would go back to a starlet gt, mental little cars! not a practical family car though, so... think i might go down the scoob, evo route!

Keep it!!! You know you want to!! Always looking at mine , when it's broke or dirty. Get it fixed because I can't sell it broken or I go spend a day cleaning her. Driving past the shop windows with the sunny weather, seeing the reflection.......... I couldn't sell her. When your down , spend alittle time with her. A good old blast down a empty rd ( at 70 mph ). Always makes me' fall in love again.

how does the starlet compare to the LC? i mean i know they can be tweaked easily to 200+, but torque wise?

well, two different kettle of fish i suppsoe lol. my starlet was around 200 break and pulled like a train and handled as if it was on rails! when i first had it dyno'd it was 140hp and 140lb and that was mental! the lc is a much smoother and luxurious car to drive though, and now its been mapped it pulls well too, but nothing like 200break in an 800kg starlet :)

What's more shocking is they hold their value and fetch 2.5k-5.5K !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know its crazy aint it! i sold mine for 2.5k but was prob worth about 3 with all the stuff i had done to it!

Out of all the 'modded' cars, Starlets seem to still sell and people tend to make money back on them

I wonder why this doesn't apply to a LC, personally thinking I've done tasteful mods at a very professional level to my LC, neat and tidy jobs that have improved performance and appearance

Yeah your right, they hold their money well for some reason. I wanted one for ages and hated haing to sell it on :(

Im not sure either why this doesn't apply to the lc though, i suppose its because they are a bit more common? Their lovely looking cars and parts are a lot cheaper than jap stuff too, even 'non' perfromance/tuning parts. Iv spent a lot of money on mine already but will never get that money back.

That's not high on my list when it comes to buying a fast car. The LCR was only ever meant as a short term purchase and to see what vag was like as I have only ever had jap turbo cars before.

Sadly IMO it's dull to drive, yeah it's got reasonable pace but it's very unrewarding with very little feedback. Just not raw enough for me.

just bought my lc! 2001 y reg, 99k, fssh, 6 months tax 12 months mot £1250!! and i cant find a mark or problem with it! not sure if i was very lucky or the price is just falling for these now?

i havent made my mind up yet... but i have come to this conclusion if i was to sell the Leon:

Expenditure to Sell for a decent price:

Refurb alloys - £100
front bumper spray - £100
clutch- £500 (parts and £50 labour - mates rates)

so thats £700 without thinking about it, and i would onyl get 2k and at a massive push 2.5k.... then i would want to spend 4k on a decent jap car... which would most likely need work (cambelt etc) whereas the leon has had this.

I think its a no brainer... im considering getting another engine for the Leon and forging it (or can i put an R lump in?)
