Rust on drive-train component?

Hi,

I was doing an engine compartment inspection when I spotted some rust on a component in the drive-train. The car is 1 year old and has just been serviced. The picture attached shows what I'm talking about --- it sits between the passenger-side drive-shaft and the gearbox. Is this any cause for concern (e.g., does it just stay like that) or should I be down the dealers having the bit swapped out under warranty?

Thanks.

OK, thanks for reassuring me. Actually... this looks like a stock VAG component, I'll check on parents' Polo as well.

Hmm... the equivalent bit on the Polo is covered in dirt so I can't really compare. Seems to be a different shape and material anyway. But as m0rk and dozza.13 point out, it's only on the surface and the car is running A-OK. So no worries [B)]
