SAI block off plate, cheaper? 1.8T

Hi all, just wondering if anyone had made their own or has someone that can. Seems rediculous paying over 20quid for a bit of metal! Let me know via email if you have some something for me, cheers guys!

my dads an engineer and he saw what i payed 20 quid for or whatever it was and he was just SHOCKED. he said he could make them for about 2 quid in materials! i might get him to make a load up and sell them on here for just as cheap!

Just 2 quid in materials? DOnt forget, design time, manufatcturing time etc...

Remember its 18 quid minus discount.

Plus, its not just a plate, theres a recess for an o-ring to get a better seal than 'just a plate'.

The o rings not really needed tho phil cos the gasket forms the seal, and seeing at the pumps no longer connected theres not as much pressure on it so would be fine

oh don't get me wrong, R&D costs etc, definitely. im not annoyed i payed that much- im glad i did as it's a good thing to have. i just think that they could be made very cheaply

Plus, you try gettin someone to machine that as a one off. It wont be cheap at all.

Couple of machine opps there, two cutters, facing off engraving etc..

No, cold air is injected by the SAI, combines with the richer mixture at startup.

I dont want a branded material, its a waste of my money i just want something thats functional and not self promoting! Rhysox i would deffinatly see people buying them for like a tenner posted, how quickly could your dad make them up?!
I was tempted to make a template but thought i dont think i have any metal thats thick enough or the like to stop bending at the garage, might be able to find a bit of alloy somewhere... cheers for the input guys.
