And yes Ken, the special delivery that took 10 days looks like a complete ballache, lets hope after all this it actally works or else its getting taken back to the seller this Wednesday when I pass on the way to Le Mans!

I was getting the MFD and MCD mixed up.A little further reading about the MFD implied that the D or G version doesn't matter. G is the only one that works with the VW steering wheel controls etc. Not that that effects you as you have an MCD.
Does the back of your unit look like this?
I have one in my car working (well still got some problems but hey it looks cool)
The picture above is the correct however there should be a gala speed pulse wire connected into the top slot (comes as part of the plug and play lead set), i know this coz i had to cut it down to fit the cd changer alongside it!
From my experience they dont like not having a cd in (map cd) and mine wines constantly if nothings in!
It is version a,b,c,d if it says seat navigation system (like mine) and its deffo g if it says seat mfd!

No, mine's NOT that stereo. Mine doesn't have fans on the back of it, and I've even put a pic of the power block on here which is completely different!

pop by if you want mate, i'm in central london today next to Old Bailey, or France for the next couple of days, but i'll be sticking to ebay procedure as i have sold a genuine item. But as i statd, its gonna have to be a Parcel force claim. No dents when i sent it and it was packaged bloody well in a huge box and loads of packing round the item, oh and it never went special deliveryy due to weight exceeding the postage you paid it was parcel force 48.
Trust me i saw this unit working, i bloody drove to sheffiled to buy it. But never got round to fitting it in mine as it was far from easy, the cables i bought from Germany were meant to solve it, but nope. But it was working when I and i stress I removed it from the other car, just i was not allowed to chop into the loom to cut the other wires out.
