Sat Nav!

im currently looking at buying a sat nav system! ive searched the forum and not had much joy im wanting something slim so i can put it in my pocket when im not in the car.

or even better do SEATdo a built in system with sat nav ect that would fit my mk4 im not wanting to spend shed loads but i dont want cheap crap that will get me even more lost any help would be great thanks

dont get a built in one some one will break into your car and nick it, had loads nicked out of mercs at work, sounds like you should get a pda with a sat nav in then you can carry it round all the time

Well the Syrius looks the dogs dinner. Very sleak, and sexy. Seat dont do a built in system in the u.k.

aimez unless they rip the dash out or cut the screen out which would then be useless they wouldnt break in for the sat nav and with the alarm system il be buying soon they certainly wont
but as said they dont do 1 anyway

Garmin Nuvi is what ive got and that slips into the top pocket

I dunno how to post pics. lol, About 250-300. they are the best looking sat nav
in my opinion.

yep they do rip the dash out to nick them they are pros at doin it, the people doin it at my work got caught eventually thanks to us, they dont care how fancy your alarm is these guys broke into brand new mercs and the alarms were super loud i know as i walked up to the cars the alarm went off.
dont get me wrong a good alarm helps but it cant stop someone smashing a window.

yeh i feel glad i helped get these guys sent to prison, i got to give a statement after i discovered 2 cars broken into, the owners werent that fussed as having new mercs they were rich anyway!

seat do a sat nav you can get fits in the 2 din dash but also links to radio and not very good quality that side of it, very low poer to the speakers but have seen this in person on a blokes car who bought my old fr wheels

Syrius is the one to go for, read loads of good reviews about it off the net and in magazines.

Got to agree Ive got the garmin nuvi 310d, think it costs about £250 now, thouroughly recommend it.

My biggest gripe with my garmin is that it's a bit quiet

or maybe the car's I drive are too noisey

You could do worse than to look at the Navman F or N ranges, starting at about $150, or you could look at the TOM TOM one or GO, all fairly small units as well.

the garmin nuvi is the 1 ive got its brilliant!!! Its got a built in bluetooth handsfree kit, which also allows u 2 read your phone book and text messages on the sat nav system, aswell as voice activated dialing (with most nokia's and sony erricssons)! it also stores numerous good restraunts and thier phone numbers for your chosen destiantion aswell as other things to do and see! its lightweight and would easily fit into a pocket... despite its size it still has a nice clear screen tho! if you did purchase it, the map on it is slightly outdated (about a year and a half) but you go onto the website and purcahse the latest update (1st 1 u purchase is free)! it also gives you 3 months free to the speed camera site database which updaes all the locations onto your sat nav 4 u! I got mine for £230, money well spent!!!
