after a failed attempt of finding a mk3 cupra exhaust ive decided to get a performance one ...my first instinct was go for a Milltek.

...but ive found a cheap scorpion cat back and wondered would it be ok for motorway driving, passengers ...coming home at 2am etc.

basically i dont want to cut my bumper much, want to keep the OEM style ...gonna go for twin exits and tbh i dont want to hear it much on the motorway, maybe a little performance "get out the way type of noise" but not much.. any1 with any experience with SCORPION? or should i not bother ?

thank you.

what sort of sound does the janspeed give off, is it much more than standard. im considering one but dont want a chavvy universal back box sound.

No the janspeed sounds nice a little throaty underload, certainly not chavvy.

If it's any use I have had them on bikes in the past and the quality for what you pay is very good, the customer service was superb and as long as their car side is the same set up, I'd definitely recommend them.:)

jansports sound good.
mongoose sound nice aswell, my friend had one on his XR3i cab, 3inch rolled full system.

very deep, not raspy/chav noise off a 1.0.

I wouldnt go for a custom, id go for a branded exhaust, anyone ive heard with mongoose, janspeed, blueflame, etc have always come up trumps

I've got a custom poweflow jobbie fitted by the previous Chav tastic owner so quite loud, annoyingly it's at it's worst between 75-90mph, is this a std thing for aftermarket exhausts these days as my MK2 Gold running a magnex with 6x4 tail (again came with car) was the same??

to many other things to do to before thinking about changing it at the moment :(!

I've got a supersprint rear with 90mm tail pipe and no centre silencer. It runs the low 90's dB at trackday noise tests of 4000rpm. Then again, it has no sound insulation at all so I'm used to plenty of noise in the car.

When I got the Milltek for my S3 it was before they introduced a straight through pipe option, so I had to go for a centre silencer. I find it too quiet compared to the Ibiza.

I would honestly recommend trying to get your hands on a mk3 cupra cat-back system. Yes, i know they are like gold dust but it would be worth the wait/hunt.

They give a perfect sound, a nice deep burble. It isnt like these universal/chavvy loud things. It sounds perfect for the car, even on a 1.4.

But thats just my opinion/

3 exhaust systems I've been living with:

1: the standard mk3 cupra cat back exhaust that I fitted to my valver. By far the best exhaust system. Look very nice and supple, had a nice rumble when idling and silent as a whistle on the motorway.

2: Powerflow custom cat back that is fitted to my polo. Cost the previous owner £350. It is good quality material, after I gave it a polish it looks as new even tho its about 3 or 4 years old. Problem is that its very loud and SOOOOOOOOO annoying on the motorway because of the drone it produces. And because 90% of journeys I do in my polo are 50mile commutes on the motorway, it drives me crazy. So much so I'd swap it for a standard system if I could

3: Scorpion can on my bike. Sounds the dogs and is quite loud. The built quality also seems very good considering the price.
