surely if a mk3 cupra exhaust fits the mk2 the after market ones will too?

Yes it probably will fit BUT the Mk3 is a turbo and the exhaust system is designed for a turbo, the Mk2 is n/a!

dave_cymru what exhaust do u have?

I had a custom one made by Prospeed, exhaust is good, sounds good but I'm not too fussed on the company anymore. I have problems with him all the time but everyone else will rate him lol.

oh wait i get it ...a bigger bore so more air going out, right? that might not be efficient for a n/a

Well my valver was running with a cat back original mk3 cupra exhaust and it seemed to run fine. And if it did make a performance difference (good or bad) then I sure didn't notice it.

I also have a original mk3 cupra cat back exhaust and it is running fine. Havent had any issues at all with it. One thing is that it has made my little 1.4 more responsive when you hit the accelerator now. It responds so much better. Its more fun to drive than ever.

The standard mk3 exhaust is the same bore as the mk2 exhaust but a Miltek or any other aftermarket systems is a bigger bore, hence better power gains from using aftermarket exhuasts.

Too big of a bore for an n/a isn't good.

so looks like a custom jobbie, what would be the ideal size of a n / a bore?

2" or 2.25"? ...if the turbo ones are 2.5"

n/a needs a 2.25" bore I think.... turbo you just want to get the gases out with an n/a you want some back pressure.
