hi fellas, just seen a scorpion rear box on egay... 199 quid. i have milltek dp and cat, standard oem cat back

my rear box is blowing slightly at the min. want to change the tailpipe aswell, the scorpion seems a good price.

do you think it would be worthwhile doing this, im aware the oem rear silencer will keep it quieter, but what would be the downsides of just going rear box??

after a different tailpipe deisgn to the twin pipe on standard cupra and with xmas coming around im sure wifey would comply

There won't be any difference to fitting that silencer apart from a little more rumble. However it is £200 + p&p which is cheaper than a cat-back system I agree but if you get and upgraded centre section at a later date then there are some Q's...1) Can you get one at all on it's own or is it a custom job? 2) Can you get one for a price that won't turn out more expensive than just buying a whole cat-back system in the 1st place?

If 2) is YES then save an extra £100-ish and get a whole cat-back system.

possibly so would work out more expensive... but at 200 quid then a new oem wouldnt be far off that i would imagine... not after performance or real sound benefits as they are negligeable anyways with the dp and cat being the restrictive part.

just fancy a different tail design and 200 is cheaper than 280 for the cat back plus fitting costs?

what are scorpion like, dont want a nova sound from it.

Jetex? will this fit the milltek then the scorpion though, whats the dimensions of the jetex... i know the milltek is 2.5", the scorpion says the same.

just seen 2.5" hmm so 265 for cat back in that case then... will they all mate up properly?

The Jetex system looks quite nice, shame they don't do a non-res for the LCR though.

You'll have a very unique system Jame and maybe a very good one. I can't see why they won't all fit together, the flanges should all be the same. On my 1st car, 106 GTi, I hade a Supersprint centre section an Piper rear silencer and it was the most gorgeous sounding thing...proof that mix and match isn't alsways bad.

My pattern part centre section of a 1.9 diesel Toledo was £11 they have no silencer ;)
Spools up quicker but no noise increase.

o the toledo centre section fits the 2.5" cat back, and will fit the scorpion rear box?

hmmmh, you get that from stealers?
