Hello, I'm in the process of stripping my interior, all sound deadening is gone, now onto the seam sealer. I've been using an electric drill with a wire brush bit in, I'm going to sand and primer the exposed metal but have I got to put some sort of anti rust stuff down first? Or will primer be ok?

Thanks!

if there is no rust there in the first place just use an etch primer.....that will be sufficient....if there is any rust i would recommend rust remody before painting.

Not in seams but a little around one of the rubber drainers. It would be ok to weld these up wouldn't it? Got no carpets in so no water will gather.

True. Might try and buy new rubber drainer things from dealer. Old ones have seen better days! Can't wait till all the sealer is gone, such a horrible job to remove!

why u removing the seam sealer for? Can't really see much point in it and tbh I would much rather keep the seams sealed up then peal it all off.

The rubber plugs are 40mm in diameter, you will have a choice between 25,30 & 40mm when you go to the dealers.

It's okay to weld them up, one of mine were rusted to.
